Lane End Farm was established in 2007 by Peter and Ingrid Smith and is set in the picturesque countryside of North Devon on the edge of Exmoor. We specialise in producing good quality affordable products as well as maintaining a high level of animal welfare. We believe that ‘happy animals’ produce ‘happy meat’.

Our aim is to produce a locally grown product for local people and keep the food miles to a minimum. The majority of our stock and animal feed is produced in Devon, along with the slaughtering process too.

Lane End Farm practises the ‘Five Freedoms’ as set by the Animal Welfare Council. The five freedoms ensure that there are low stocking densities and excellent stockmanship which will safeguard the animal’s welfare.

Lane End Farm - Our Animals


Chicken and Duck We produce a Hubbard chicken for the table and a Traditional Devon strain of Duck. The Hubbard bird is slower growing, enjoys ranging outside and therefore produces a tastier flavoured meat. The chickens and ducks live in airy arks or straw barns with daily access to the fresh Devon air. They are bedded daily with fresh straw and fed a GM free diet.	Pork At Lane End we rear a mixture of Large White and Duroc sows mixed with Duroc Boars. The pigs are reared in large airy barns with access to the sunlight and fresh Devon air. The pigs are given fresh straw bedding every day and are fed on a cereal based feed and locally grown fodder. During the summer months the sows enjoy being outside.	Beef A small Dexter herd is raised on the fields of Lane End Farm and wintered in the barn whilst being fed on silage and hay grown at Lane End. The pedigree Dexter herd produces breeding stock which we sell along with an adequate supply of meat which we sell throughout the year.

Delivery
Items will be delivered to the address registered to the payment card or Paypal account unless specified via email.

Order by Midnight on a Sunday and we will deliver to you on the following Friday before 7pm. Orders received after Midnight on a Sunday will be delivered the following week. Although we cannot give a specific time for your delivery we can leave your parcel in an alternative secure location, please email us with your instructions. If your order does not arrive please let us know immediately.

If the packaging is damaged and the product is exposed you must either sign and stipulate that the goods were damaged or refuse delivery. Please contact us immediately for redelivery.

Packaging
The meat is kept cool with ice packs boxed in polystyrene.
